A rising Real Madrid star lashed out at the club over his teammates’ snub

Gonzalo García Torres’ rise was one of the most promising developments for Real Madrid and Xabi Alonso this summer, and arguably a highlight of the Club World Cup. The 21-year-old won the Golden Boot with four goals, starting every game and adding one assist.
Despite García’s impending departure from Real Madrid six weeks ago, it now appears he will remain in the first team under Alonso. Real Madrid has agreed to a contract extension, and he will become one of the primary replacements for Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior in attack. He will also wear the No. 9 jersey, a number left vacant by Mbappé after he took over Luka Modrić’s No. 10. This news has left Enderique Felipe unhappy.
First Spanish number 9 at Real Madrid since 2004
Garcia will be the first Spanish player to wear the number 9 jersey in 21 years, when Fernando Morientes left Real Madrid. He was succeeded by Ronaldo Nazario and since then, Roberto Soldado, Javier Saviola, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have successively donned the jersey in the summer until last summer.
Enderique Felipe is furious with Real Madrid’s transfer arrangements
This summer has been difficult for Enderique. In May, he missed the Club World Cup with a hamstring tear. After witnessing Garcia’s prowess in the United States, Enderique initially agreed to a loan move to Real Sociedad, but a recurring injury ultimately scuttled the move. The 19-year-old has now confirmed he will remain at Real Madrid next season, competing for a place, with a goal of returning in late September or October.
According to RadioMarca, Enderique is clearly displeased with Real Madrid. Upon learning that Garcia would be the new number 9, rather than him, the Brazilian couldn’t conceal his disappointment.
