Atletico Madrid Interested in Chelsea Winger

Atletico Madrid is in the transfer market looking for a new player who will help them finalize their attacking lineup for the 2025-26 season. Following the collapse of the Enzo Milote deal, Atletico has identified several targets, one of whom is a notorious Manchester United player.
Currently, Atletico is prioritizing a move for Napoli’s Giacomo Raspadori, who has already reached a personal agreement with the club. Atletico is currently seeking to reach an inter-club agreement with the reigning Serie A champions. While the outlook is positive, nothing can be taken for granted following the Milote incident.
Sancho is unlikely to be signed—for more than one reason.
Manchester United are prepared to accept a loan deal and demand a €5 million transfer fee. While this would be attractive to Atletico, they would undoubtedly be concerned about paying a significant portion of the winger’s wages, which is considered excessive.
Furthermore, Atletico currently cannot accommodate Sancho, as the three non-EU spots in their La Liga squad are already occupied by Argentine duo Thiago Almada and Nahuel Molina, as well as another English player, Conor Gallagher. None of these three are expected to leave before the end of the summer, making a deal almost certain to fail.
Atletico has already identified potential replacements, with one notable candidate being Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho.
According to Sport1 (via ED), Atletico is interested in signing Sancho after Manchester United informed him he would leave before the end of the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old was approached by Barcelona 12 months ago, and his former club, Borussia Dortmund, is also pursuing him.
