Tottenham Hotspur has seen a glimmer of hope in their pursuit of former Bayern Munich star and current striker Harry Kane. Kane, who rose through the ranks at Spurs, ultimately becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer, is leaving the north London club in pursuit of trophies.

Rumors suggest Bayern may be willing to sell Kane back to a Premier League club next summer, with his contract expiring in 2027. This move could allow Kane to challenge Alan Shearer’s record for the Premier League’s all-time top scorer and potentially return to a Tottenham shirt. German football expert Raphael Honigstein recently told talkSPORT that Kane’s desire to return to England to finish his career is no secret within Bayern.

He further stated that it currently appears unlikely that the 32-year-old will extend his contract beyond 2027, and that the club is already planning for the future.

Bayern manager Vincent Kompany signed Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea during the summer transfer window. However, Honigstein was quick to clarify that there are no plans to bring Jackson in as a permanent replacement for Kane and that he has been brought in solely as a back-up to the England striker. Whether Jackson will be considered a long-term solution following Kane’s departure remains uncertain.
