Chelsea competes with Liverpool and Tottenham for Real Madrid star Rodrigo Goes

With just over a week left until the Premier League season begins and just three weeks until the transfer window closes, English teams are making final adjustments to their squads after a long and sometimes fruitful summer of transfers.
Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham have been among the busiest clubs in the Premier League over the past few months, but their pace isn’t over yet, with the Blues preparing to compete with the Reds and their city rivals for another new player.
Ben Jacobs reports that Chelsea is eager to sign Real Madrid striker Rodrigo Goes, who could leave the club within the remaining days of the transfer window as he has fallen out of favor under Xabi Alonso.
Jacobs acknowledged that Chelsea may not be able to compete with Liverpool in the potential race for Rodrigo Goes, and that Tottenham is likely a club the Brazil international would not even consider joining.
Rodrigo unlikely to move to Chelsea
With Benjamin Cesco joining Manchester United and Alexander Isak’s departure expected to become more difficult for Newcastle United, the Reds are in a very competitive position, considering the club’s financial, profitability, and sustainability requirements.
With Darwin Nunez also set to leave for Saudi Arabia and Luis Diaz already having joined Bayern Munich, Rodrigo Goes is undoubtedly Liverpool’s most likely signing to complete their attacking trident.
Rodrigo Goes would be a valuable asset to the Premier League, but it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will actually sign him. Considering his £70 million price tag and the number of attacking players they have recently acquired, it’s doubtful he’ll join Chelsea.
If the Real Madrid star eventually moves to the Premier League, Liverpool is undoubtedly his next potential destination, with all odds stacked against him moving to Anfield.
