Chelsea open ‘initial talks’ to sign Alejandro Garnacho

With Jason Sancho’s return to his parent club, Chelsea is short on left-wing options. Previously, Chelsea decided not to trigger his buyout clause, and Noni Madueke joined Arsenal.
Although young player Tyrik George is still at the club and has shown potential, he lacks experience and may be loaned out this summer to gain more game time.
As a result, Chelsea has prioritized Gnacho as a key target to strengthen their left-wing position and is accelerating negotiations to sign the winger.
According to Ben Jacobs, Chelsea has opened preliminary talks with Manchester United regarding the possibility of signing Gnacho this summer.
The Red Devils are reportedly considering selling him and demanding a transfer fee in excess of £50 million. However, the transfer expert added that Chelsea is optimistic about the valuation drop, as Manchester United now needs to sell players to balance the books after successfully signing Benjamin Cesco.
Ukrainian winger Myhaylo Mudrik is also unavailable for signing due to an anti-doping violation; Sporting Lisbon winger Giovani Kunda is also not available until next summer (2026).
Ganacho to Chelsea
While the Blues will need to negotiate with Manchester United, agreeing personal terms with Ganachcho may not be a problem, as Jacobs reports that the Argentina international is eager to move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Xavi Simons is also said to be a top target for Chelsea’s board, and Ganachcho is a popular candidate to bolster Maresca’s attacking arsenal, potentially giving the Blues one of the strongest attacking depths in the league.
Chelsea kick off pre-season with a home match against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday and an away game against AC Milan on Sunday before turning their attention to their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
Chelsea, as always, has been very active during the transfer window, with Maresca determined to strengthen their attacking lineup before the start of the new season.
The club has already signed Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jaime Baino-Gittens, while Estebão has also completed his move to London—but more signings are still expected.
