Liverpool Prepares to Launch New Move for Crystal Palace Star
Former scout Mick Brown recently revealed in an interview with Football Insider that Liverpool are preparing to launch a new move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. Brown stated:
“Right now, all the discussions within Liverpool are focused on Isaac.”
“But from what I understand, Marc Guehi is still on their radar, and I expect them to make a move before the transfer window closes.”
“I think they consider Guehi to be just as important as Isaac because of their contributions to the team.”
“They’re not entirely sure about Konate; he’s made too many mistakes and might leave when his contract expires next year.”
They’ve already let Jairel Kwaza go, and Joe Gomez isn’t the best long-term option at center back.
“If they want to win all the trophies, they can’t take risks at the back, and Guehi would be a very good addition for them.”
“He’d be a top signing, and I expect they’d be ready at some point.” Guehi’s outstanding performance in the Premier League last season
Guehi recently enjoyed a stellar season for the London club, contributing numerous impactful defensive performances. The England international made 44 appearances for the Eagles last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists in all competitions.
The 25-year-old completed 61 tackles, 55 blocks, and 28 interceptions in the Premier League, excelling in his own half. He is also very cautious when passing out wide, as evidenced by his 83.5% pass success rate in the English top flight.
Should Liverpool manager Arnes Loth sign Guehi this summer?
Guehi is an excellent tackler and doesn’t mind clearing the ball when necessary. He can spot danger well and make some crucial interceptions for his team from deep.
The England star can even build attacks from the back. He is currently one of the best center backs in the Premier League. Therefore, if Liverpool can lure Guehi to Anfield during the offseason, it would be an excellent transfer for them.
Guehi would undoubtedly strengthen Arne Sloter’s defensive strength. He could even form a solid partnership with Virgil van Dijk at the Merseyside club.
At 25, Guehi is only going to get better in the coming years. Therefore, the Reds should focus on signing him before the end of this transfer window.
