The 24-year-old, who previously played for Bayern Munich’s youth system, struggled to establish a place in the Bavarian club’s starting lineup. He subsequently joined Hoffenheim, where he earned consistent playing time and developed his career before moving to Stuttgart a few years ago.

The midfielder excelled at the MHP Arena, helping the team to a second-place finish in the Bundesliga in the 2023/24 season. Last season, he even led Sebastian Hoeness’s team to the DFB-Pokal title.

Stiller showcased his potential at Stuttgart and was selected for Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany national team. According to Caught Offside, the 24-year-old’s recent impressive performances have attracted considerable attention.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are all considering signing him, while Bayern Munich is also interested.

Manchester United also had their eye on the player and attempted to activate his £32 million release clause to sign him in the final days of the recently concluded summer transfer window.

However, the player ultimately rejected a move to Old Trafford, wishing to continue playing to ensure he could represent Germany at next summer’s World Cup.

Stiller Joins Manchester United

Manchester United currently has Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, Kobe Mainu, and Bruno Fernandes in midfield. Toby Collier was also an option, but he has since joined West Bromwich Albion on loan, hoping to get more playing time and develop his career.

After failing to get playing time, Mainu was also willing to go on loan for a season in order to get consistent playing time. However, the Old Trafford club ultimately did not allow him to leave.

Amorim reportedly wanted to bring in a new, athletic midfielder this summer, with Carlos Baleba reportedly being his primary target. However, Brighton refused to allow him to leave this summer. So perhaps, after failing to sign the Cameroonian, Manchester United decided to sign Stiller.

The Stuttgart star possesses exceptional skills and has the potential to become a world-class midfielder in the future. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United rekindles their interest in signing him next January or next summer.
