Manchester United Plans to Sign Conor Gallagher in January

Manchester United searched for a new midfielder during the final month of the summer transfer window, but their pursuit of top target Carlos Baleba ultimately ended in disappointment.

Brighton remained steadfast in their pursuit of the Cameroon international, refusing to approve any transfer request away from the Amex Stadium this summer.

The club is not letting up, as they are already scouting for potential midfield reinforcements during the winter.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United attempted to sign Gallagher on loan in the final stages of the summer transfer window but were unsuccessful.

However, the highly motivated midfielder remains on Manchester United’s radar, with the Spanish media claiming they will make another attempt to sign the England international in January.

The report also adds that Gallagher, formerly of Chelsea and Crystal Palace, is interested in a return to the Premier League to rediscover his form.

As a result, the report adds, Manchester United has now set its sights on the 25-year-old. A highly motivated player with a knack for box-to-box play, he’s the perfect fit to bolster Ruben Amorim’s midfield.

Manchester United is reportedly considering a January loan or permanent transfer for the midfielder, so they might have to meet Transfermarkt’s £34 million valuation to make that happen.

A Motivated Midfielder

After failing to pursue Baleba, Manchester United turned their attention elsewhere on transfer deadline day, signing Belgian international goalkeeper Sené Ramens from Royal Antwerp.

Rammens becomes Manchester United’s fifth and final summer signing, following forwards Mateus Cunha, Brian Mbemo, Benjamin Cesco, and left wing-back Diego Leão.

Following their failure to sign Reiba, Gallagher would be an ideal fit to bolster the club’s midfield, possessing many of the qualities crucial to Amorim’s style of management.

During his time at Chelsea, he demonstrated solid defensive skills in a defensive midfield role, and during his loan spell at Crystal Palace, he showcased his eye for goal – particularly his trademark long-range shots.

The England international is eager to return to the Premier League, so Manchester United will need to act quickly to secure his signature, as other Premier League rivals may also flock to him.
