Real Betis target Anthony faces new competition

Manchester United is running out of time to sell winger Anthony and is hoping to recoup some of their investment in the Brazilian. The €95 million player experienced a resurgence in form for Real Betis in the second half of last season and is currently seeking a return to Sevilla.
After connecting with Betis’ local fans and enjoying his time in Spain, Anthony has so far rejected other offers to leave Old Trafford. Manchester United prioritizes selling Anthony for €40 million to €45 million, but has only received offers from Botafogo and Saudi Arabia, neither of which Anthony has accepted.
Three clubs closely monitoring Anthony’s movements
Atlético Madrid, RB Leipzig, and Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly monitoring his situation. However, no club has yet reached out to Anthony, and as for Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid appears unlikely to sign Anthony this summer.
Anthony’s resurgence at Betis
The 25-year-old made 26 appearances for Betis last season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists. His goals were crucial in both Betis’ La Liga campaign and their promotion to the English Football Association League. Anthony left the Estadio Benito Villamarín as a key player for the team.
New suitors contact Manchester United
Caught Offside reports that Benfica has contacted Manchester United twice to explore a possible transfer for Anthony. However, the Portuguese giants have so far only been interested in loaning the Brazilian, which is clearly not an ideal option for Manchester United. Betis has made it clear they want to loan Anthony, but if Benfica is willing to pay more, this could pose a problem for Real Madrid when Manchester United makes their choice.
