The 23-year-old prodigy excelled in the Premier League last season, contributing eight goals and 10 assists in 37 league appearances.

Rogers also showcased his quality in Villa’s Champions League campaign and clearly has the potential to join a bigger club.

According to Give Me Sport, both Tottenham and Chelsea are interested in Rogers, who could be valued at up to £100 million.

The Sun previously listed the England international as Chelsea’s top target, but now it appears Chelsea may face competition from Tottenham.

With links to Tottenham and Chelsea, what’s Rodgers’ next move?

Chelsea certainly won’t sign Rodgers, as they are in talks for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.

The Blues have already signed Jamie Gittens and Esteban Willian as new attacking midfielders this summer, so how they’ll deploy Rodgers is unclear.

If Tottenham decides to intensify their interest in the former Middlesbrough youngster, it could be good news for them.

Rogers would certainly be attracted to the opportunity to move to London, and both clubs could also offer him Champions League qualification for next season.

A transfer for Morgan Rogers is even more crucial for Tottenham Hotspur

Following James Maddison’s injury, Tottenham Hotspur is in desperate need of an attacking midfielder.

According to Tottenham Hotspur’s official website, Maddison appears set to miss several months with a cruciate ligament injury.

Rodgers could be an upgrade on Maddison, but Tottenham Hotspur urgently needs more players to fill that role.

At the same time, it’s hard to imagine the North London club spending nearly £100 million on a single player.
