Tottenham Hotspur competes with Everton and West Ham United for Luiz
The Brazilian joined Juventus last summer after spending the 2023/24 season at Aston Villa. However, he struggled to get regular game time at the Allianz Arena last season, making just six starts in the Champions League and Serie A.
According to Caught Offside, Juventus is willing to offer around £35 million for Luiz. He also had an opportunity to join Fenerbahce, but he rejected the offer because he did not want to move to Turkey at this stage of his career.
Despite Tottenham’s recent loan move of Joao Palhinha, they remain interested and are closely monitoring his situation before potentially signing him.
West Ham United and Everton are also in the race, while Liverpool, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest are also considering moves. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are currently in the lead, although no agreement has been reached.
Luiz prefers to play as a deep-lying playmaker, but he’s also capable of operating in a box-to-box (box-to-box) role. Furthermore, he can operate as an attacking midfielder if needed.
Bateer
With the signing of Parshinha, Tottenham now has Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr, Archie Gray, and Lucas Bergwall as midfield options. However, Bissouma has been linked with a transfer.
Tim Iroebounam is another option, but the 22-year-old has only started six times in the past two Premier League seasons. West Ham United is also short on firepower in the heart of their midfield, so Potter is considering signing a new midfielder.
Despite his struggles at Juventus, Luiz is a proven player in the Premier League and could be a shrewd signing for Tottenham, Everton or West Ham if they end up signing him in this transfer window.
Everton, on the other hand, lacks depth in midfield, currently only having two professional players in Idrissa Gueye and James Garner. Carlos Alcaraz is capable of playing as a deep-lying playmaker, but he’s more suited to playing as a central midfielder.
