Since Oliver Glasner took over, the “Eagles” have experienced new life, recently winning the FA Cup and Community Shield. Since then, several of their key players have attracted the attention of major European clubs.

After Michael Oliseh’s departure, Eberechi Eze became the team’s star player. However, Arsenal secured his signature this summer for a substantial transfer fee.

Marc Guehi was heavily linked with a transfer this summer and nearly joined Liverpool on transfer deadline day. However, the South London club ultimately secured his services.

Adam Walton has also attracted the attention of several top clubs, with Real Madrid and Manchester United reportedly considering his signature.

Now, Solhekol (via GiveMeSport) claims that Atalanta, AC Milan, Juventus, and several Premier League clubs are interested in signing Mateta this summer.

Mateta Joins Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur was also involved in the race, having held talks with Crystal Palace late in the recently concluded summer transfer window to explore the details of signing the French player.

Before signing Benjamin Cesco, Manchester United had also been linked with him. However, the South London club ultimately managed to keep him.

Ultimately, the North London club decided to strengthen their attacking XI by signing Randall Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day.

Transfermarkt estimates the 28-year-old’s value at around £26 million and he is currently entering the final two years of his contract. Therefore, while Crystal Palace didn’t let him leave this summer, they may consider a move next year.

Mateta, a 6-foot-3 (1.93-meter) veteran in the Premier League, has made a strong start to the season, scoring three goals in six appearances across all competitions.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham Hotspur rekindle their interest in signing Mateta to bolster their attacking line next summer or sign Kolo Muani permanently.
